The new $2.7 million building was designed by the architectural firm of Cowan-Goudreault of Concord, and Eckman Construction of Bedford was responsible for the build. The old building no longer met building and safety code. The 9,000 square foot building is located at 865 White Mountain Highway, just up the street from the 65-year-old station it will replace. “It has been 10 years in the making and this station was on the warrant six times, finally passing in 2016,” said Marique. Fire Chief Nick Marique called it a great day for the town. To the delight of the crowd gathered for the celebration, the ribbon was actually two sections of fire hose, which were not cut but rather uncoupled to mark the official opening of the building. MILTON – The culmination of a 10-year effort was celebrated on Saturday, with the official ribbon cutting and open house for the new Milton Fire/Rescue building. ![]()
